106| INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY

My Spiritual journey kicked off in 2007. Before that I had questioned my beliefs (which is completely normal to do!) I knew then that there is a Higher Power, but what else is there? What’s the point of life? Just some of the questions I had. And in search of those answers I even accompanied friends to their Churches. Except for some messages I received throughout a service, I never found what I was looking for. It just didn’t click or feel like Home. After meeting with a Spiritual teacher/Guru, she introduced me to Chakras and more. It peaked my interest and I started buying books, listening to audio, watching documentaries, going to Holistic events etc. In the midst of all of that my mom passed away and well… Here we are.

I’m not going to sit here and say that there aren’t many times that I feel lonely on my spiritual path. I was once told that this is something that is personal and to not expect others in my life to go on this journey with me. And I completely innerstand that. But it would be nice to have someone to sit with and talk about our epiphanies, weird dreams, signs or messages that I’ve received, etc etc. So what did I do? I put out a request to the Holy Spirit and my ancestors. I told them that I needed and wanted to be a part of a community and meet new people to connect with.

Soon after I found myself Googling. I was looking into workshops, classes, certifications etc when I remembered that I met a woman/spiritual teacher a few years ago at one of the local Holistic Fairs! I went into my office and grabbed a bag where I keep business cards for holistic and spiritual purposes. And found what I was looking for. I quickly entered her website’s name and signed myself up for her newsletter.

Several weeks later I got an email and in that email was an invitation to an International Women’s Day Soulful Retreat that she was hosting and instantly I knew it was my answered prayer/wish fulfilled! I shared it with a friend in case she wanted to go and it’ll be just me tomorrow. It’s close to an hour away from my house, but I am going! If you’re reading this, I’ve already gone to the event since it was on March 8th.

Look out for my next post where I will tell you all about it! I can’t wait to write about how it turned out. I know it’ll be just what I needed.

Going to more spiritual retreats, workshops, classes is one of my top goals for this year. I have my level 2 Reiki and Past Life Regression Certifications and looking to add more! I love learning, I love growing, and will make sure to make the time for it.

Thank you for reading! I hope you have a wonderful week and month of March! Pssst! Spring is near! 😆

105| HIDDEN GEMS

It was my baby boy’s 11th Birthday on Tuesday and he had such a great day! I really try to keep his face offline and won’t be posting pictures of him here. He also asks that I don’t ever post him online, and I respect his privacy.

His dad and I took him to see the latest Captain America movie. After the movie we stopped into Sephora for him to pick out a cologne. He’s into them and let me tell you, he has expensive taste! We got home and he went upstairs to his room. I decorated his Desktop with balloons, some snacks, a Birthday card and a sweater. Minutes later, while I was cleaning up in the kitchen, he ran down to me with tears flowing down his face. I asked him why was he crying and he just hugged me even tighter. I asked if he was happy with his surprise and he nodded, I asked if he read the card and he nodded. He just said thank you. I think my mentioning his Yaya and how proud of him she is. How proud of him we all are, added to the emotions. “Yaya” that’s what he’d call my mami, she tried and tried for him to call her “mamá” but he’d chosen Yaya for her. And Mama was reserved for her mom, my grandmother. Y’all know me, this makes me wonder who they were for each other in a past life. Overall he had a great birthday.

The night before we visited my father. My oldest brother was here from NY and we sang happy birthday to A*. He got donuts and I stacked them up into a pyramid and put some candles on the top donut lol. My boy does not care for cake or cupcakes, but will throw down donuts lol. He’s very family oriented and had the biggest smile.

Anyway, here are some pictures:

  1. Picture of me at the movie theater. If I see a cool cutout I won’t let it go to waste lol.

  2. A’s game PC decorated for his birthday.

  3. Curry chickpeas recipe I found and loooove.

  4. Boiling some leftover candle wax. I combined in one jar and used a wick set that I purchased from Amazon and made myself a new candle. I think it’s the last one I have left.

  5. Snow. I am over it lol.

  6. Rosie was holding on to my hand the other night.

  7. Cute bird.

  8. I visited Michael’s craft store the other evening and saw these. Just thought they looked nice. Also a mental note for myself that they sell those there lol.

  9. My current nails 😏

I hope you have a great week and that this month was kind.

Love, light, the shadow too, Cin
