47| SPOOKY TV
With Spooky Season approaching I thought that I’d share some of the spookier TV series that I have been watching. I won’t mention the obvious TV shows like Stranger Things, Sabrina the Teenage Witch or American Horror Story (but there goes their honorable mention). I am going to share the shows that I feel aren’t getting the hype that they deserve. I’ll keep the list short and sweet—-Maybe this can be a new tradish on le blog? In no particular order…
From you can watch it on EPIX and I’m not sure which other platforms in any. Yes, the lead Harold Perrineau was a part of the cast of Lost. This show got me hooked during the very first episode. It was not a slow burner at all. It’s about a family on a road trip that come across a tree trunk blocking the road. They go another route, and they drive through a town and wind up at the same tree trunk. Confused and questioning their sanity, they take another route, and drive through the same town, and run into the same tree trunk. They crash their RV and the people from the town come to their aid. Although grateful the family just wants to get to their destination, but they soon realize that may not be an option. And that this town holds a lot of secrets.
2. Shining Vale is streamable on Starz. If you enjoyed watching Courtney Cox portray Monica Geller, do not expect any of that, lol. As Patricia she is the complete opposite and I love it. I’ll admit that Pat makes me want to flick her on the middle of her forehead with the reckless decisions that she makes throughout the season. But what can I say? I binged the first season in record breaking time lol. In this series Pat (a published author with severe creator’s block) and her family move into a new older home. Soon Pat realizes that she her husband and two kids are not the only ones residing in the house.
3. Ghosts (USA Version) airs on CBS, on demand and can be streamed on Paramount+. This show is a comedy and such a breath of fresh air. Samantha played by Rose McIver inherits a mansion. She moves in with her chef husband and she has a fall. When she awakens from the fall, she quickly realizes that this mansion is not like anything she’d imagine. It was haunted!
I have also watched many episodes of the Original UK version of this show. But prefer the American one. Why? The cast in the USA version are based on the original with many tweaks. And I enjoy the differences in the American one more. I wonder if I’d feel the same if I’d watch the original version first.
Had you heard of these shows before? Any that you think should be on the list next year? Share it in the comments!
PS. There’s a major sale going on at the Creations by Cindiy shop. Check it out!
