78| PUNTA CANA DAY 2

Welcome back!

My second day was spent venturing around the resort grounds to capture and soak in its beauty. One thing I can say is that pictures do not do it justice! I captured a decent amount of video footage that I have to edit prior to sharing in hopes you can see how lovely this space is. Truly perfect for a romantic getaway. Or in my case, a solo relaxing getaway.

This is the Healthy Corner hut where I got an all natural fruit smoothie. I ordered a Refreshing.

This was my suite’s swim up pool.

My waterproof sandals. I used these at the pool and at the beach. They never got overheated. Purchase them at Amazon! Here’s the link: https://amzn.to/47qxQ8H

During my stay, I had workers knock at my door. Apparently the do not disturb, and housekeeping service lights outside of the door weren’t working. Inside of the room there are buttons labeled as such. You press them when you don’t want to be disturbed or housekeeping to service your room. It is also the doorbell that they press and heard throughout the room, versus knocking.

I went back to the Cafe and ordered the wrap that I originally wanted (remember? I messed up and opted for the lasagna?)

After pool and beach time I went back to my room to shower and change clothes. I knew I wanted to go to the all white beach party after dinner. Unfortunately dinner required reservations so I had to wait. I walked back to my room to change out of the original green outfit straight into my white one. It was just to time manage. That way I’d be able to head straight to the beach after eating.

I had Japanese veggie fried rice. No, I didn’t eat the Tofu. But the rice was delicious!! Made to perfection. I had a salad prior to that.

I didn’t take pictures during the Reggae concert at the beach but I did get video footage. Be patient for that please.

The resort has a different vibe at night. Very romantic and peaceful.

It was the perfect day. I take myself back at least once a day lol.

Thanks for stopping by! My posts have been random and posted out of regular schedule but it’s alright!

Do I miss Instagram? No. I do not. And if anyone from there misses me they’ll reach out. I’m being protective of my energy and space. Kind of feel like a butterfly going back into a cocoon.

Weirdo shit happened while I was away. I noticed a lot of things about people that I thought were on my side and cheering for me. People that I considered family that showed their true colors (whether they meant to or not).

I am also implementing new set of boundaries. Not as a shield or to protect myself from hurt or disrespect. But just as an outline because apparently people need reminding on what and what not to get a pass on when it comes to the way they handle you.

“I will give back what is given” being one of them. A lot of my relationships are alive because I’ve put in the effort. No more one sided shit. I don’t care who you are. If I can make and take initiate to see you, or keep in touch with you, you can too. Simple. Taking initiative is not something easy for everyone to do and I understand that. But we are grown and we can do hard things and try new things. It’s a part of life and growing. It’s okay to evolve. I’ve done a lot of it (didn’t feel like I’ve been given much of a choice) and yeah, if it pulls me out of spaces or people I’ve outgrown? So be it. Feeling very unapologetic over here. Very no b-essy (bullshit), very cut anyone off-y. Very demure lmao jk jk.

Anyway thanks for coming to my Ted talk lol.

Love, light, and the shadow too!—-Cin

77| PUNTA CANA DAY 1

I’ve recently deactivated my Instagram. The ‘ber’s have started and I felt myself needing to retreat. To pull my energy back to myself and just be. I don’t know how long this leave will last.

If I’m completely honest with you, I felt a way coming back after my quick trip. And realized I should’ve stayed away longer. Not out of selfishness but because I really feel like I needed more time away. More time to center and ground myself. My last night away was very emotional and coming back the next day with those emotions still all over the place was not good. But it was out of my control and I just had to roll with it. I just know I’ll more than likely be going away again before the end of this calendar year.

My time away was filled with a lot of time outside, grounding, cleansing at the ocean, reading my book, and actually enjoying small talk with strangers. Something I rarely enjoy. I left with familiar faces hoping to see me again sooner rather than later. And that was nice. It felt great being back in the mother land. Felt closer to my mom. I had a smile on my face 98% of my time there. I loved it.

Before you can enjoy pictures from my first day in Punta Cana— I was there from 8/24-8/27. Here’s some of the background info…

I booked with Secrets Cap Cana after a lot of hours of research and reading reviews! It was important to find a resort with Vegan options. And this one did have many. One complaint was the lack of vegan breakfast options and the lack of the traditional Dominican cuisine! Hello?? When I go to a resort I want to enjoy the foods the locals enjoy and this one didn’t offer that. I wanted fried sweet plantains one evening and they didn’t have any. Lol, I was shocked. So, I opted to not really eat from the Buffet and would eat at the other restaurants.

But other than that, and the fact that the night life ended early (midnight) at the resort. Everything else was excellent! My favorite? The service! Everyone. Every single person was kind, helpful, personable, and would actually remember your name. That’s what sold me. I never had to wait for a chair at the beach or pool. I paid for the Preferred Club King Swim Up Suite and got my personal Butler who’s name was Phillipe. He was the best! Always checked in on me via WhatsApp, sent me the happenings of the resort every start of the day, and it let me plan what I would do. He wasn’t always with me (I learned other resorts have the butlers by your side the entire time) and I am glad this was not the case here. Anything I needed, all I had to do was ask.

I arrived before the room was ready. So after checking in, I walked over to eat at one of the huts near the pools. The rolls were pretty good, the lasagna was not for me. After I ate I went to check if the room was ready and it was. Phillipe and I walked over and I was near everything. Near all of the restaurants, this natural fruit hut that made all natural smoothies, the pools, had a slight view of the ocean, it was just perfect. I stayed in building 6. There was only another suite on my side/ground level. There was a black cat that I shared the patio with but didn’t mind. I only saw it during my first day.

I received a lot of compliments on my swimwear this trip. This one was the priciest out of the three! It came with a matching scrunchi that I used. I paid the full price but it’s currently on sale! Here’s the link: https://oneoneswimwear.com/products/thalya-one-piece-phi-phi I have a fuller bottom than the model, and it’s a full thong on me. So it’s VERY cheeky.

Don’t forget to return to see the other pictures!
